This course introduces visual communication from a theoretical background using communication models, towards the psychology and physiology of perception. Some of the aspects of perception and communication that will be discussed are: form, light, color, movement, and interaction. These aspects of visual communication will be explained in the context of different media and applications, such as advertisement, comics, and cinema. The discipline will conclude with a focus on communication in multimedia and interactive environments, discussing how the elements of perception integrate with principles of interaction design.
